Greetings to all!! I am a proud native of Colorado Springs! I attended school in Widefield School District #3 before heading to college at the University of Kansas and then later to University of Colorado. I have been active my whole life! I started ballet and gymnastics at the age of 3. Although ballet is the true love of my heart and soul, I moved on to sports when I became a teenager. I played volleyball, basketball, and ran track-but really found my passion in Cheerleading. I always considered myself an active person, and never was worried about my weight much since I kept fitness in my realm of things to do, but not really a top priority. Even after I had my son-I didn’t consider weight to be a problem of mine. Then I entered corporate America! A world of sitting for 8+ hours, unhealthy lunches, unhealthy eating habits, and then giving in to my emotional needs using food to get through the stresses of my life. After moving back to Colorado, my weight slowly crept up to 238 pounds. I tried diet pills, doing meaningless cardio, and mostly-I just told myself I wasn’t overweight-just “Big Boned”. I was never a fan of group fitness but I got to a point where I knew I needed to do something different. A good friend of mine kept telling me about S.W.E.A.T. I started going slowly and really fell in love with Zumba. I then realized I was among a group of athletes who were transforming their mind from the inside out. I realized that I was among a group of REAL PEOPLE who were learning to love themselves one moment, one class, one pound at a time. I will never forget the first time I actually gave myself a hug, said “I love me” and MEANT IT!! I started boot camp to really get on my fitness journey in October of 2013. When I realized my son was serious about becoming a top level athlete, I made it my goal to make sure that I could be the resource he needed to support, reinforce, and help him in any way possible to reach his goals. I’m still on my journey-I still have more work to do. But-I now live my life knowing that the end of one journey is only to give me room to get on to the next! I LOVE teaching at S.W.E.A.T. and feel so blessed to be honored, amazed, and in the presence of amazing people making amazing changes from their heart out, and to stand alongside the BEST instructors hands down!! If we are the company that we keep-I feel so, so, so privileged!! I promise to challenge you in the ways I challenge myself and to embrace your change as I embrace my challenge. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you as a very proud member of #TEAMSWEAT!!
